Chris Coxill leads RMC International, a 25-year-established mortgage brokerage based in Barnham, West Sussex. With about 400 clients that stretch across the southeast of England, and only two employees - Chris and his colleagues have their work cut out for them.
“We used to employ 15 people a few years back, but the recession hit and we’ve had to decrease the company size significantly,” says Chris. He adds: “We signed up for Primus’ small business phone system as a means of cutting costs when moving to a new office.”
“Basically - we run our business over the phone and email - so our telecommunications system is really important. When we go on holiday, the office basically gets shut down, but we’ll still need to answer our customers, so we’ll be diverting calls and setting up messaging services to ensure that clients are sent to the right place - be it voicemail or someone’s mobile.”

“Before this we had a big system from BT which cost us thousands. Anytime we wanted to make a change, we’d have to call BT. They’d try their hardest to sell you something every time you called, and then only would carry out changes when you pay them. The personalised service you get with Primus is pretty rare these days, especially if you’re an SME.”
